FINANCIAL PLANNING FIRM FAQS

What fees are associated with working with Empress Investment Group?

At Empress Investment Group, we do NOT charge a fee per meeting. We are a fiduciary fee-based advisory firm. Fee-based advisory services mean that the client is paying an ongoing fee for the management of their accounts. This fee varies depending on the size of the portfolio, the investment allocation, and the type of management. Additionally, there are times when we make recommendations for our clients to obtain life insurance and annuity policies. For these solutions, our office is compensated directly from the insurance carrier via commission. When we meet to discuss your financial needs and objectives, we will be able to tell you what fees are involved based on the services we agree upon. We assure you that you will not be charged anything until a clear course of action is discussed, agreed upon, and implemented.

What services do you provide?

Our prosperity plan process ensures you have a comprehensive financial plan. We focus on the 5 key areas below, mindful of your unique goals and values:

  1. Income Planning

  2. Investment Planning

  3. Tax Planning

  4. Health Care Planning

  5. Legacy Planning

We work with both individuals and businesses. Some of our clients need assistance with one aspect of a financial plan. For example, they may want to start an IRA, save for a home down payment, or purchase long term care insurance. Others require more detailed financial planning strategies, including asset allocation, portfolio management, goal setting, etc. We can work with you to assess what the best fit is for your personal situation. Do you meet with clients on the weekends?

Our Empress Team does not see clients on the weekends. We believe that financial planning should be something our clients take seriously, like their health. After all, this is your financial health, so most of our clients take time during normal business hours to meet, as they would if they needed to see a doctor or a dentist.

Is there a fee for the 1st meeting?

We do not charge a fee for our initial consultation, or for ongoing consultations (please refer to information about our fees above). Our initial consultation is a time for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you. There is no pressure! This is a casual meeting where we meet for approximately one hour to discuss your financial goals and concerns, current investments, and other aspects related to planning. If you feel like we can add value and we believe you are a client we would like to work with long- term, we will set a second appointment. In the interim, we will do a full analysis of your current investment allocations, and put together a plan of action for discussion in the follow-up meeting (which is also complimentary).

Does Empress Investment Group only work with women?

No! We have built our business taking into consideration many of the financial challenges that women face. In turn, 75% of our clientele is female. However, many of those women are married and we do work with single men as well. We can help anyone with financial planning strategies!

How do you work with clients that aren't local?

We are licensed in multiple states (please send us an email to determine if we are licensed in your state). Los Angeles is a bit of a melting pot, so many of our clients engage us while they live in LA, but then end up relocating. With modern technology, Zoom meetings make it a seamless transition to servicing clients who don't live locally.
